This place could really benefit from a more detailed menu, and a crash course on customer service for their employees. El Burrito Grande is a designer impostor of Chipotle. Not much to add, other than their menu is really vague and my questions about its contents were met with short, frustrated answers from the young girl behind the counter. Nothing special here. There isn't much else nearby. It's a serviceable, cheap lunch...but not much more.

I may have ordered the wrong thing. I had cheese and onion enchiladas smothered green. Other food looked better. It was a one-man operation the day I was there, but that was all that was required. I probably won't ever go back.

Total waste of money. We won't return. I didn't want to give it any star rating, but it made me.

cold, soggy burritos almost all rice and beans. $8 for the Dad burrito $9 for the momma. I just bought $20 worth of beans and rice. horrible. The chile verde was terrible. Colorado Springs is hurting for good Mex....sad.

I ate here today for the second time ever since my brother was eating it. The first time was not really any different than the second. The food was just ok, and the menu is pretty bland. This time around I had a Dads Burrito lunch special with chicken. I got refried beans in the burrito and they also put rice in it. I got one scoop of chicken that could have easily passed as cat food. The burrito was honestly like a bean burrito. I will not go back.

Well something must have changed between the times of the other reviews and when I went here today, because my family and I thought it was great! The food was delicious and the young white woman and older Mexican lady were polite and answered all our first-timer questions, haha :] and for three meals, $20 was totally worth it! Will definitely be returning!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
